How to travel in comfort on a coach

Modern coaches are pretty comfortable to start with, but if you’re on a longer journey it’s worth taking a few extra measures to make sure your journey is even more comfortable and enjoyable. VIP Coach Hire are the experts in luxury coach travel so we know a thing or two about travelling in comfort and style. Here are a few of our top tips for a comfortable, relaxing coach journey...

  • Invest in a travel pillow: A C-shaped travel pillow is the perfect travel accessory. An inflatable one is easy to store when it’s not in use, while a feather, bean, or fibre filled travel cushion will be softer and comfier. Use it to catch a comfortable forty winks on a longer coach journey, or simply to support your neck and prevent strains.
  • Wear comfortable clothes: If you know you’re going to be travelling by coach for several hours it’s advisable to wear comfortable clothes. Avoid trousers that are on the tight side, and restrictive suit jackets and shirts. Opt for comfortable trousers and a t-shirt or sweater, you can always change your clothes when you get to your destination, and that way your suit won’t be creased!
  • Take regular comfort breaks: Let your driver know before you set off that you plan on taking several comfort breaks throughout the journey. There are plenty of service stations along Britain’s motorways that provide amenities such as shops, cafes, and toilets. Stopping at the services also gives you time to stretch your legs, take in some fresh air, and prepare yourself for the rest of the journey.
  • Plan some entertainment: If your coach journey is set to be a long one then it can be a good idea to plan some entertainment activities to help the time pass more quickly. Play some music and have a sing-along, or play some road trip games like ‘I spy’. If you’re on your way to a corporate team building event these things can help your team to bond before you get there!
