Measures you should take to make your coach trip a success

Coaches are brilliant if you are planning a trip with a large group of people, our coaches at VIP Coach Hire will transport your party in safety and style.

Organising a coach journey shouldn’t be too problematic, cover the basics mentioned in this blog and your journey should be hassle-free from start to finish.

Here’s what we suggest you do...

Book a coach in plenty of time

Leave it until the last minute to book a coach for a trip and this might end in disappointment.

We try to accommodate all requests at VIP, even if they are short notice, however, to give your coach operator the best chance of matching your requirements it’s not a bad idea to book a vehicle in plenty of time.

Get a firm list of numbers

Before you book a coach do a final tally of the exact number of people that will be travelling on the vehicle, this should help you establish the size of the coach you need.

Why pay a bigger bus when a smaller option will save you money and service your requirements perfectly?

Give everyone the departure time

Make everyone aware of the time the coach will be departing the rendezvous point. If you plan an early start tell passengers the vehicle will be leaving at a set time, if they don’t arrive on time they’ll literally miss the bus!

Check everybody has turned up

Have a list of names for passengers. Tick travellers off the list when they board the coach, once all the names have been crossed off the list you are good to go.

Plan the journey time

Work out in advance how long the drive to your destination is likely to take.

You might want to factor stops at motorway service stations into the journey time for longer trips, just have a clear indication of how long the drive is going to last, your coach operator should be able to advise you more on this subject.

Arrange a return time

Give everyone a cut off point for the return leg of the coach trip. Arrange to meet at a set time and make everyone aware of their responsibilities.

There’s nothing worse than being sat on a coach waiting for stragglers to return, it’s frustrating for the passengers that managed to board the bus in plenty of time and the driver won’t be best pleased either!
